Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
Metro Wheels Repairs ("we", "us") is a mobile wheel repair business in British Columbia. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what we do with it. We follow British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
The short version
- We collect only what we need to quote and carry out your repair.
- We don't use analytics, advertising, tracking cookies or social media pixels.
- We don't sell your information, and we don't send marketing messages.
- Quote requests and their photos delete automatically about 13 months after we receive them.
What we collect
When you ask for a quote:
- Photos of your wheels. Photos can carry hidden details (metadata), such as when and where they were taken. We don't use those details.
- Your phone number and/or email address.
- Where the vehicle is: the address or area you type, or your GPS coordinates if you tap "Use my location" (your browser asks your permission first).
- Your name and anything you write in the form, if you choose to give them.
When you call, text or email us: your contact details and what you tell us.
When you visit the website: like every website, our server receives your IP address and basic browser information. We use your IP address only to block abuse, for example by limiting how many requests one visitor can send. It is kept in memory for about an hour at most and is not saved with your quote. Our hosting provider may also keep short-term technical logs for security.
Why we use it
- To prepare your quote and send it to you.
- To arrange, carry out and follow up on your repair.
- To keep the business records the law requires, such as invoices.
- To protect the website from spam and attacks.
We won't use your information for any other purpose without asking you first.
Your consent
By sending the quote form, you agree to us using your information for the purposes above. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. We will then delete your information, unless the law requires us to keep it (for example, invoices for completed work).
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent personal information. We share it only with:
- Render (our website host), which runs this website and stores quote requests for us.
- The phone, text and email services we use to reply to you.
- Mapping services, such as Google Maps, when we look up where your vehicle is.
- Cloudflare, if our "I'm not a robot" check is switched on. It receives technical information about your browser and device to tell people from bots.
- Anyone the law requires us to share it with.
Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada. Our website is hosted by Render in the United States. Information stored there may be accessible to authorities under that country's laws.
How long we keep it
- Quote requests and photos: deleted automatically about 13 months after we receive them. BC law requires us to keep information we used to make a decision about you, such as a price, for at least a year so you can ask to see it.
- If you hire us: invoices and job records are kept as long as tax law requires (generally six years).
- You can ask us to delete your information sooner (see "Your rights").
How we protect it
- The website only works over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
- Photos you send us are private. Only we can see them; they never appear on the website.
- Our admin area is password-protected and locks out anyone who enters too many wrong passwords.
- We keep information only for as long as described above.
No website or storage system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information, as BC law requires. If a breach could cause you significant harm, we will tell you.
Photos on our website
We only post photos of our own work. We won't post photos you send us without asking you first, and we avoid showing licence plates or anything else that could identify you or your home. Location data is removed from photos before they go on the website.
Cookie policy
This website does not use cookies. We also don't use similar technology, such as local storage or tracking pixels, to identify or track you. Because nothing on the site tracks you, we don't show a cookie banner.
If our "I'm not a robot" check is switched on, Cloudflare may use technology that is strictly necessary to detect bots. It is not used for advertising.
If we ever add anything that uses cookies, such as analytics, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where required.
Your rights
You can ask us:
- what personal information we hold about you, how we have used it, and who we have shared it with;
- to correct information that is wrong;
- to delete your information or stop using it, unless the law requires us to keep it.
Contact our privacy contact, the owner, at metrowheelsrepairs@gmail.com or (778) 636-2372. We will respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you have already given us, we will ask for your consent first.
